Andy Murray became the first player to successfully defend an Olympic Games tennis singles gold medal.
The British star defeated Argentina’s Juan Martin del Porto after a four-hour, four-set match in the men’s singles best-of-five final on Sunday at the Rio Olympics.
While wearing his UA Clutchfit Pursuit sneakers in a new red colorway, he triumphed over the Nike athlete, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Japan’s Kei Nishikori took the bronze medal.
Murray’s flexible footwear features two-way stretch synthetic material and a foam sole that supports stability.
The tennis ace signed a four-year endorsement deal with Under Armour in late 2014.
It’s a back-to-back Olympic win for Murray, who earned gold at the 2012 London Games.
