To many, Idaho may be best known for producing potatoes. However, footwear is also home grown with Telic International footwear manufacturing all of its products in the state.
The Boise-based company, which produces after-sport recovery and lifestyle footwear, partners with HCP, a local state-of-the-art factory, for all production. According to Telic co-founder and CEO Terry Stillman, the company has sold more than 500,000 pairs since its launch in 2012. By the end of this year, Stillman expects that number to hit 1 million, with current distribution in 30 countries.
According to Stillman, Telic is committed to keeping production stateside. “We’ve taken the road less traveled,” he said, about the company’s ongoing focus on sourcing domestically.
Today, Telic offers four styles in 10 colors, retailing from $39.95 to $49.95. The sandals are made of Novalon, a proprietary body-heat activated, waterproof, lightweight, durable material. It’s soft, yet supportive footbed is designed with a slight heel rocker to off-load pressure and accentuate foot-strike management. Novalon’s elasticity provides for a secure, snug fit for a variety of foot types.
The men’s and women’s collection includes a range of styles such as a unisex flip-flop, slide and clog, in addition to a z-strap style for women and Mallory slide, available at the end of April. The collection is sold at sporting goods stores, etailers, comfort shoe stores, surf shops and department stores.
