After a Game 1 loss to the Thunder on Monday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., the Golden State Warriors — led by NBA MVP Stephen Curry — proved on Wednesday why they were the league’s best team, blowing out Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Curry — wearing a yellow, blue and white pair of his Under Armour Curry 2.5 signature shoe — dropped a modest (for him) 28 points on OKC on 9-of-15 shooting, including going 5-of-8 from 3-point range. The superstar guard’s scoring was more impressive than usual, due to a swollen elbow suffered after diving into the stands to save the ball in the first quarter that grew as the game progressed. Curry also had three assists and two rebounds in the Warriors’ 118-91 win.
But Curry wasn’t the only baller with a solid game in Golden State’s balanced offensive attack on Wednesday. Klay Thompson posted a 15-point performance on 5-of-17 shooting in a predominantly white with blue and yellow pair of his Anta KT signature shoe. The All-Star guard was 3-of-4 from long range, and also had four assists and two rebounds.
Another key Golden State contributor offensively was Andre Iguodala, coming off the bench to score 14 points in the Nike HyperLive. The Warriors will hit the road to play the Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena for Game 3, scheduled for Sunday night.
