Reebok‘s Alien Stomper sneakers, which went on sale on Reebok.com today at noon EDT, have sold out. The sneakers were released in conjunction with Alien Day, which celebrates the “Alien” movie franchise.
While the sneakers retailed for $175 on Reebok.com, many pairs have already hit eBay for up to $800. The high-top sneakers were worn by actress Sigourney Weaver, who played the character Ellen Ripley in the 1986 film “Aliens,” a follow-up to the original movie, “Alien,” released in 1979.
Thanks to heavy traffic on its website, Reebok experienced some issues with customer checkout.
Checkout issue is due to high traffic. A few pairs still available. Continue trying! We apologize for the errors.

Select retailers worldwide also carried the sneakers, including Footpatrol in London and Solebox in Germany.
Reebok is still offering customers another chance to get their hands on a pair of the shoes. The athletic brand has partnered with Charitybuzz to auction off a pair to benefit Soles4Soules, a nonprofit that collects and donates shoes to communities in need. The shoes also come with the “Weyland-Yutani Corp.” suitcase that appears in the movie. Reebok has not yet announced a date and time for the auction.
