Kylie Jenner is officially team Puma.
A week after reports surfaced that the reality star and budding fashion designer would be working with the brand, Puma officially confirmed the news in a statement Wednesday.
“I am pleased and excited to be able to confirm that Puma is indeed working with Kylie Jenner,” said Adam Petrick, global director of brand and marketing at Puma.
“Kylie will be featured in the brand’s Spring/Summer women’s training campaign launching in April 2016. Kylie represents a fresh and exciting new era for fashion, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting and influential female to headline this campaign for Puma.”
The news comes after Jenner’s brother-in-law Kanye West tweeted last week that “there will never be a Kylie Puma anything,” and that Puma should “never try to divide the family!!!”
Of course, Kanye is deeply committed to his Yeezy partnership with Adidas, and he has praised the athletic brand several times on social media during the past week. He noted that his much-buzzed-about Madison Square Garden show would not have been possible without the athletic brand.
Meanwhile, both Puma and Jenner have been at the center of New York Fashion Week. Last week, Kylie and sister Kendall debuted their new fashion line at an intimate party in New York. A few days later, Puma and Rihanna unveiled their Fenty collection, which received strong reviews.
We’ll wait to see whether Kanye weighs in on Kylie’s now confirmed deal. Stay tuned.
