Puma Launches Latest EvoPower Cleat

Puma wants to show its staying power.

The athletic brand earlier today introduced a yellow soccer cleat called EvoPower 1.3. The soccer style features new outsole and upper treatments, designed to give the wearer more flexibility.

The cleat, according to the company, is rooted in the idea of barefoot kicking, but with the revamped materials will giver players more kicking power.

The EvoPower, in stores and online today, will be worn by brand ambassadors such as Cesc Fàbregas, Mario Balotelli, Olivier Giroud and Yaya Touré.

“Since the EvoPower was first launched in 2014, Puma has managed to improve this great boot even more each year,” Fàbregas said in a statement. “What I especially like about this version is the stability it gives in matches and training, which helps improve my performance. The new color is great, it will catch a lot of attention on pitch.”

For its part, Puma has been pushing the bright color story.

In September of 2015, the company added a color twist to two of its core soccer lines, including the EvoPower and EvoSpeed.

As part of that campaign, Puma tapped top players to wear one orange and one blue cleat during competitive club matches.

It also asked fans to share images of their own cleats and experiences playing in Puma.
