Former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant only wore purple and gold jerseys on the court, but his signature shoes were never — and still aren’t — limited to specific hues. The latest colorway of his Nike sneaker boasts the brand’s popular university red.
The Nike Kobe 11 Elite “Red Horse” is available now and retails for $220. The shoe could be purchased via SNKRS and select Nike retail partners.
The latest iteration boasts a university red-dominated Flyknit upper in a gradient pattern, with the color darker in the back and lighter in the front of the shoe. The shoe’s upper also features white Swoosh branding on the lateral and medial sides, and white on the heel with university red accents. The shoe is completed with a white sole.
The shoe also features the baller’s Mamba branding in white on its university red insoles, as well as on the heel tab, and comes with white laces. Aside from featuring Nike’s Flyknit technology, the shoe boasts other celebrated innovations from the brand including a drop-in Lunarlon sockliner with Zoom Air cushioning in the heel.
The basketball icon wrapped his career up in typical Black Mamba style, dropping 60 points on the Utah Jazz in his final game, which took place April 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Bryant wore a black-and-gold iteration of his Nike Kobe 11 signature shoe during the game.
