Nike‘s popular “Big Window” Air Max sneaker has gotten a sleek new look. This week, the athletic brand will release the Air Max BW Ultra, a newly designed update to the 25-year-old Air Max Classic BW.
The new Air Max BW Ultra features the same extra-wide window piece as its predecessor, but carries less weight thanks to a cored midsole and outsole. The shoe also features a lightweight and breathable upper of two-tone mesh.
For its debut, Nike is offering four versions of the sneaker in a range of colored uppers: Midnight Navy, University Red, Enamel Green and basic black. The brand keeps the aesthetics understated with white midsoles and heel panels.
In addition to debuting the Air Max BW Ultra, Nike is also re-releasing the Air Max Classic BW in its original colorway: black and Persian violet. The Air Max Classic, designed by Tinker Hatfield, made its debut in 1991 and quickly became a staple of distance runners. It also gained fame as a favorite style among American hip-hop artists and on the European club scene.
The Air Max BW Ultra hits stores on March 3, while the Air Max Classic BW OG will drop on March 8. Both styles will be sold on Nike.com and at select retailers worldwide.
