Last week, a student from Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas, had a moment in the spotlight when his generosity went viral. On Thursday, Hector Montez surprised one of his favorite teachers with a pair Air Jordan sneakers as a thank you, and apparently, Nike was among the viewers.
In the Twitter video that has received more than 100,000 retweets, Montez surprised teacher Thomas Walser with a pair of “Taxi” Air Jordan 12s — the sneaker Walser wanted since age 12. “You told me sophomore year that this was your favorite shoe,” Montez says in the clip. “And you told me your size, but you don’t even remember.” His teacher was overcome with emotion, saying, “I love them; that’s awesome. I can’t believe this.”

For Nike, a kind act clearly doesn’t go unnoticed. The athletic giant sent Montez his own pair of Air Jordan 12s. Nike included a note that said, “Your teacher inspired you. You inspired us. Continue to be the change you want to see.”
