LeBron James is a three-time NBA champion, three-time NBA Finals MVP and a 12-time NBA All-Star, but it looks like King James could soon be adding “most generous athlete” to his list of accomplishments.
James — who recently made headlines for refusing to stay at Trump hotels — gifted yet another high school basketball team with free sneakers. According to Ozark’s Sports Zone, the Hartville Eagles boys basketball team of Hartville, Mo., was rewarded with a shipment of free Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 sneakers for winning the program’s first state championship in March. The package also included a personalized note and apparel for each member of the team.
“He’s already the best basketball player in the world, and now to know that he actually does care about people below him, he wants to see people grow, that means a lot,” Eagles head coach Brett Reed told Ozark’s Sports Zone. “Just for Nike or LeBron James to notice what little old Hartville is doing, it’s a very nice gesture, we’re very appreciative and grateful.”

In November, James and Nike sent similar gifts to teams across the country including the West Linn, Ore., boys and Spotswood, Va., girls teams.
