LeBron James Celebrates NBA Championship In Cleveland With 1.3 Million Fans

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers celebrated the end of the city’s 52-year pro sports title drought on Wednesday afternoon with an honorary parade in downtown Cleveland. An estimated 1.3 millions fans were in attendance.

James soaked in the momentous occasion by rolling through the parade in a Rolls Royce. When the MVP hit the stage to address the crowd, James took a moment to acknowledge each and every one of his teammates. “I’m just one man with a plan, with a drive with determination, with will, with a belief … but I’m just one guy,” he said. “Thank you for all the LeBron wishes, but I’m nothing without the group behind me.”

The Cavaliers took home their first NBA title in franchise history after rallying back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors on Sunday in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

“What’s going on right now is still so surreal to me. It still hasn’t hit me what actually happened. For some crazy reason I believe I’m going to wake up and it’s going to be Game 4 all over again,” said James. “I keep feeling that because it’s so surreal.”

James is expected to be back to defend his title with the Cavaliers, as he ended his speech saying, “I’m nothing without ya’ll. Let’s get ready for next year.”

Kyrie Irving, who had an impressive showing during the NBA Finals, also took the mic on Wednesday to describe his experience. “We’re all together, and we’re all bonded for life. The is an unbelievable ride that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. The only question that can ever be said about this team is, ‘What’s next?’ “
