Since Adidas Originals unveiled the NMD silhouette in December, they’ve been tough for most to get their hands on. Now the brand has unveiled the NMD Primeknit Pitch Black — and they only made 500 pairs to be released to “friends and family.”
The sneakers have a black Primeknit upper, a black Boost midsole, black EVA inserts and black laces. Adidas Originals is allowing fans to test their luck when it releases 100 pairs through a Snapchat contest on Saturday. Here’s how it works:
• Follow @adidasoriginals on Snapchat — the Snapchat story will go live at noon ET on Saturday.
• The story will reveal a series of hidden numbers. When all the numbers have been revealed, users can piece them together into a phone number and text that number to reveal the next steps.
• 100 people will be selected at random to receive the shoes once the story expires after 24 hours.
A select few pairs will come with an “Urban Utility Unit.” The unit is a Rimowa case that includes a pair of the Pitch Black shoes and accessories from brands such as Porter, Oral-B and SIGG.
Sneaker fans will want to get their hands on these, especially since the shoes have a colored Boost midsole, a feature Adidas only just revealed on some Ultra Boost Uncaged shoes. Previously, Boost soles had only been white.
Adidas Originals is also releasing more Tubular silhouettes today, another favorite style that is sure to sell out quickly.
