You don’t need a driver’s license to test out a pair of the new Goodyear men’s casuals, set to hit stores in March. The Goodyear Performance Collection, currently available in Europe, will be sold at specialty and department stores nationwide.
The collection follows the recent debut of a performance work footwear collection under the Goodyear label. The companion series of athletic-inspired casuals includes styles that blend fashion and comfort with race-inspired detailing.
“Being able to extend our racing heritage into casual footwear, a growing category, enables us to introduce more consumers to the Goodyear family of products,” said Nancy Ray, director of licensed products at Goodyear. “We look forward to building upon the success of our safety and outdoor lines and connecting more people to our brand.”
The collection, produced and distributed by footwear licensee SCL Footwear, incorporates such features as durability, mobility, traction and comfort into five styles: Ori Performance Racing, $70, Clutch Performance Racing, $70; Index Performance Racing, $60; Groove Goodyear Racing, $60 and the Vulcan Var Canvas, $80.

For an authentic performance touch, the design team used actual Goodyear tire tread patterns for the outsoles and authentic components of racing shoes. The design of the Clutch style shoe mimic an actual racing boot.
