Fila & Urban Outfitters Release Collab Collection for Men

Fila and Urban Outfitters are back at it again.
After seeing some success with a women’s collaboration last fall, the two companies this week unveiled a second Fila + UO collection, but expanded it to also include apparel and sneakers for men.
While the new women’s line is just apparel, the men’s offering is much more robust, featuring polos, T-shirts, jackets, shorts, pants and accessories, as well as five Fila footwear styles. They include the Drifter Slide (retailing for $35), the Cage high-top ($90), the Original Fitness sneaker in leather ($80) and suede ($70), and the MB high-top ($100).
All the Fila + UO shoes are available now, but only online at Urbanoutfitters.com.

According to Fila, the items selected for the collab collection pay homage to the brand’s history in tennis, and to some of the legends of the sport from the 1970s and ’80s.
“The consumer desire for vintage-inspired designs was evident in the debut success of the Fila + UO line,” said Danny Lieberman, SVP of apparel at Fila North America, in a statement. “We’re continuing to offer UO shoppers a chance to explore our heritage and rediscover a selection of authentic styles, synonymous with Fila’s iconic aesthetic.”
To promote the collection, Fila and UO created a special ad campaign featuring guys and girls sporting the line — and looking so retro fabulous they could be on their way to hang out with a young John McEnroe. The images will appear on billboards in major markets and be part of in-store, digital and social media promotions.
