Dwyane Wade To Ditch The Miami Heat For The Chicago Bulls
In a move as surprising as Kevin Durant leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to play for the Golden State Warriors, longtime Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is moving on from the only team he’s ever played for to join his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls.
According to multiple reports, the Li-Ning-sponsored free agent guard agreed tonight to a two-year, $47 million contract with the team, joining forces with Jordan Brand-sponsored Jimmy Butler and one-time NBA champion Rajon Rondo (who agreed to terms with the Bulls over the weekend).
Wade played 13 seasons in Miami, winning three championships for the franchise, and was named the NBA Finals MVP during the Heat’s 2006 title run. Throughout his career, the star baller has averaged 19 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game.
The 34-year-old veteran guard has worn a number of brands on the court during his 13 seasons including Converse and Jordan Brand, lacing up silhouettes such as the Converse Icon, Converse Weapon, and the Air Jordan 2011. He’s also played in signature shoes with different brands, including the Converse Wade series, the Jordan Fly Wade line, and his latest series with Li-Ning, the Way of Wade.
