DJ Khaled has fans throughout the hip-hop and sneaker communities. Last night, they came out in full force to meet the celebrity at New York-based consignment sneaker store Stadium Goods.
The master of the social media platform Snapchat visited the SoHo storefront Tuesday for a “We The Best” pop-up shop and meet-and-greet. Khaled shook thousands of people’s hands, signed autographs, and took pictures with all in attendance – but mostly, the Miami-based musician appeared on thousands of New Yorker’s Snapchat stories.
Khaled greeted fans in attendance from a throne that resembled his seat for the cover of the latest issue of Sneaker News, where he sat with three Air Jordan silhouettes on his lap – an Air Jordan II, Air Jordan III and an Air Jordan IV – and his phone raised in his hand.

The rap standout promised fans he has a new album slated to hit stores this year. DJ Khaled’s last album, “I Changed a Lot,” features a star-studded lineup of rappers and R&B singers including Rick Ross, Future, Chris Brown, Meek Mill, Jay Z, Big Sean, Lil Wayne and many more.
Khaled spoke with Footwear News in November about his sneaker collection and his go-to silhouettes for all occasions – Air Jordans.
“Every sneaker has a different moment,” he said. “But the reason I love Jordans so much is that they just know what they’re doing. The style, the shape, the quality — it’s iconic. We get excited every time a new release comes out, and it’s the same Jordan he used to wear. That’s powerful. That’s timeless. That’s how I make my music, too: timeless and classic.”
