Under Armour’s Cam Newton Named 2015 NFL MVP
To well-informed football fans, waiting until today to announce who the NFL‘s MVP for the regular season was just a formality. Carolina Panthers superstar quarterback Cam Newton, since the start of the season, was the clear favorite for the award.
In a surprise to no one, the thoughts and opinions of many invested in the sport came to fruition, as the Under Armour-sponsored quarterback was named the 2015 NFL MVP.
Newton threw a career-high 35 touchdown passes during the regular season, passing for 3,837 yards. The quarterback threw only 10 interceptions in the 16 regular season games this season, a career low. Newton, a known running threat, rushed for 636 yards with 10 touchdowns on 132 rushing attempts.
The Panthers’ leader is no stranger to awards. In the NFL, he was named the Rookie of the Year in 2011; while at Auburn University, he won the Heisman Award, Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award, and was named the AP Player of the Year, all in 2010.

He now has the chance to win his first Super Bowl, with tomorrow’s matchup against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, looming.
Before the season, Newton interrupted an Under Armour meeting with its interns and Kevin Plank, the company’s founder and CEO, proclaiming he will one day be a Super Bowl winner.
