Bait x Saucony Giant Leaps Sneaker Collab Will Benefit U.K. Charity
West Coast-based retailer Bait is renowned in the sneaker world for its imaginative collaborations with the top brands in the marketplace. The look of its next collab with Saucony will make it a sneakerhead favorite, but it also will appeal to those with a benevolent spirit.
The retailer will use its upcoming Bait x Saucony Cruel World 6 “Giant Leaps” project to support Follow Your Dreams, a U.K.-based organization that helps kids with learning disabilities pursue their dreams.
The “Giant Leaps” collab uses Saucony’s Shadow 5500 silhouette, a hybrid between the Shadow 5000 and 6000. Each CruelWorld design is inspired by and is an expression of the cause. For “Giant Leaps,” Bait was inspired by astronaut Neil Armstrong’s famous quote as he stepped onto the moon, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” a testament to what could be accomplished in the pursuit of our dreams.

The shoe features a deep space black upper in liquid nylon and a combination of ribbed neoprene, bubble neoprene, and smooth neoprene. It also boasts reflective 3M hits with a fitted moon print that wraps around the shoe. The midsole features a speckled pattern with the pitch black blocking, and is completed with an icy outsole.
The shoe also boasts intricate details inspired by space, including Bait and Saucony NASA-inspired CruelWorld branding is featured on the woven label on the tongue, and images of the moon and earth on the insoles.
“Giant Leaps” will hit Bait stores Saturday and retail for $120.
Bait’s CruelWorld initiative – in conjunction with Saucony – has been its way to give back to communities and causes through its sneaker collaborations. The retailer has granted $100,000 in donations to charities since its inception.
