The Los Angeles Angels beat the Boston Red Sox in one of the most stunning victories in franchise history.
Crushing the team on its own turf at Fenway Park in Boston on Saturday, the Angels won 21-2.

The explanation for the incredible game play was simple for Hector Santiago — it’s gotta be the shoes.
The Angels star told the Los Angeles Times that he credited the big win to his new customized New Balance cleats that featured the Rally Monkey, the team’s unofficial mascot.
“He carried us through the whole game for sure,” he explained.

Santiago had the new shoes made especially for the game.
The kicks feature red, white and gray colorways, and the Rally Monkey wearing an Angels jersey.

In June, Santiago wore customized New Balance cleats with his father’s face superimposed as a Father’s Day tribute.
The Rally Monkey was adapted as an unofficial team mascot in 2000. The character originated in the 1994 Jim Carrey comedy “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.”
