Adidas Originals turned heads with its Xeno treatment to many of the label’s most celebrated lifestyle silhouettes. Now, Xeno will be featured on some of Adidas’ baseball cleats.
The collection is part of Adidas’ “Cleathead” culture, bringing some of today’s sneaker trends to its cleats. The two-cleat collection uses the brand’s 2017 Adizero Afterburner 3 and 2017 Energy Boost Icon 2 silhouettes, which retail for $100 and $120, respectively. The cleats are available now via Adidas’ website.
According to Adidas, the 2017 Adizero Afterburner 3 is a cleat built for baseball’s fastest five-tool players. The lightweight cleat — weighing in at 9.3 ounces — features the Xeno technology on its Sprintskin upper and tongue. The cleat also features a full-length Litestrike EVA midsole.
The 2017 Energy Boost Icon 2 boasts an upper with a reflective Xeno Techfit bootie and a molded heel clip, as well as a full-length Energy Boost midsole.

Both cleats feature a Protrax cleat configuration completed with a matte finish and rainbow cleat tips to balance out the Xeno upper.
Adidas’ Xeno technology is responsive and reflective, with the black tones having a subdued look in natural light with hits of iridescent colors, changing to a bright full spectrum of colors when hit with a camera flash or burst of light.
