Adidas Unveils Cleat Collection With Iconic Mascots

Meet the mascots.
Adidas today revealed an update to its line of cleats called the Uncaged Collection, with each style prominently displaying popular team mascots and animalistic motifs.
The cleats, which go on sale Feb. 1 for $120, will features a Pirate, Spartan, Viking, Knight and Patriot. Styles will also include a Cheetah, Tiger and Lion, designs that first appeared when the collection launched in 2015.
According to a release from the German athletic company, the cleats are “designed to showcase style and engineered for playmakers.”
The Adizero 5-Star 5.0 cleats are lighter than most in its category, weighing in at 7.9 ounces, said the company statement.

Adidas designers used photo-realistic, high-definition depictions of the mascots for “players to represent their on-field mindset.”
The new line comes three weeks after the company unveiled its 3D liquid crystal pattern football cleats, called the 2016 Adizero 5-Star 5.0 x Kevlar Chromaflage Stars & Stripes. Each pair retails for $130.
