Adidas Turns Up the Heat With Uncaged Demon Football Cleats

Earlier this week, Adidas paid homage to iconic sports mascots with a new series of football cleats. Now the athletic brand is taking a more devilish approach with its latest style for gridiron guys.

Adidas has issued another update to its Adizero 5-Star cleat, dubbing this one the Uncaged Demon. It features photo-realistic, high-definition, 3-D fire graphics and an image of a terrifying fiend that is sure to intimidate the competition.

The Uncaged Demon comes in two versions — the ultra-lightweight Adizero 5-Star 40 and the durable Adizero 5-Star 5.0 — both of which hit stores on Feb. 1.

The Adizero 5-Star 40 cleat was crafted specifically for the 40-yard dash and is considered the lightest in the sport, weighing just 4.9 ounces. It features a Sprintskin Ultra upper that provides reinforcement in key support zones, on top of a Sprintframe football plate that offers stability at high speeds. The style will retail for $150.

Meanwhile, the Adizero 5-Star 5.0, weighing in at 7.9 ounces, also features a durable, flexible Sprintskin upper with Shockweb reinforcement and a 5-Star Frame that blends comfort, strength and traction. The 5-Star 5.0 version will retail for $120.

Both cleats will be available for purchase at Adidas.com and Eastbay.com.
