If you’ve been waiting for Adidas to give the Ultra Boost an all-black makeover, your patience is about to pay off.
Adidas VP of Global Entertainment and Influencer Marketing Jon Wexler — one of the key people responsible for making Adidas’ Kanye West collaboration a reality — shared an image of the “Triple Black” Adidas Ultra Boost on Instagram yesterday with the caption “Coming soon.”
This release sees the performance-running shoe, a favorite of everyone from Kanye to Beyoncé, receive a stealthy all-black treatment that even extends to its full-length Boost midsole, an area that is white on most Boost shoes. Colored Boost cushioning was introduced in July with the Ultra Boost Uncaged model, but this “Triple Black” look marks the first time it has appeared on the standard Ultra Boost release.
The “Triple Black” Adidas Ultra Boost has been in the works for some time, with images surfacing on social media as early as last year. Now, a release for the highly anticipated sneakers appears to be imminent, though an exact date has not yet been confirmed.
