The Adidas Originals NMD_R1 has been a hit silhouette for Adidas since it debuted in December 2015, and the brand is keeping the releases coming this year.
After the NMD_R1 Primeknit Camo Pack sold out last weekend, the brand has unveiled the NMD_R1 in white, featuring blue and red accents. This is a nod to the very first NMD_R1 that dropped in December and was done with a black upper and the same red and blue accents.
The shoe features an all-white Primeknit upper with white welded tape overlays, a Boost midsole and red and blue EVA plugs.
The NMD draws inspiration from past Adidas Originals silhouettes that were considered progressive for their time, such as the Micro Pacer, Rising Star and the Boston Super.
Adidas announced that the white NMD_R1 is set to release this summer, but the brand has not yet provided a specific date. The shoe will release internationally on Saturday. The NMD_R1 City Sock is another spin on the silhouette that is dropping in the U.S. this summer and internationally on Saturday, although one black-and-white colorway did drop over the weekend, as did the NMD Chukka.
