Adidas has introduced its new Marathon Series pack featuring the brand’s EQT Support 93 sneaker, inspired by iconic Adidas silhouettes. The first release in the series is the Tokyo EQT Support 93, which is influenced by the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games.
It also takes inspiration from the Tokyo 64 shoe, designed for Robert Lee Hayes, an American track and field athlete who won two gold medals in the 100m race and 4 x 100m relay. Hayes went on to play in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys.
The EQT Support 93 features a suede blue upper with white and gold accents and the Japanese flag on the heel.
Photographer Brock Fetch shot Mita Sneakers’ Shigeyuki Kunii around the Tokyo Marathon route wearing the sneakers.
The Tokyo EQT Support 93 will release on Feb. 27 on Adidas.com and will be available in select retailers for $150.
