Adidas has one of Major League Baseball’s brightest stars on its athlete roster in Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs. And today, the athletic giant made a move that makes sure he will be in the three stripes for a long time, announcing a multiyear partnership extension with Bryant.
“It’s a phenomenal time to be partnered with Adidas with all the energy and momentum that the brand has right now,” the third baseman said in a statement. “Adidas embraced me as part of the family from the start. It’s been a great collaboration, and we share a vision for creating the future.”
As part of the partnership, according to Adidas, Bryant will keep playing a lead role in its brand marketing campaigns and will collaborate on the brand’s baseball cleats and accessories.
“Kris Bryant is an incredible player. What I love about him is just how humble and appreciative he is to be playing the game of baseball,” Mark King, president of Adidas Group North America, said in a statement. “In so many ways, he’s just a regular kid who loves talking about Little League games and hitting home runs off his dad. There are a lot of people with talent out there, but they don’t hit 26 home runs as a rookie, become MVP and lead their team to a World Series win after a more than 100-year drought.”

Bryant had a stellar 2016 season that included being named the National League MVP and helping the Cubs win the team’s first World Series title in 108 years.
