Designer Tamara Mellon‘s fashion story is poised to transition from bookshelves to movie theaters. According to Deadline, a U.K.-based production company is looking turn the Mellon autobiography “In My Shoes” into a feature film.
Mellon, who co-founded Jimmy Choo and spent 15 years at the helm, broke away and launched her namesake line in 2013 as a wear-now, buy-now concept. Now, her brand is relaunching in the fall as a direct-to-consumer label sold directly on her e-commerce site. (At the end of 2015, Mellon filled for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy.)
“In My Shoes” recounts that journey, including her childhood, her time as an editor at Vogue and her start in the fashion business.
The designer has garnered a number of celebrity fans, too, among them Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner. Emily Ratajkowski recently paired her Prabal Gurung dress with Mellon’s Horizon sandals.
