Reebok To Release Limited-Edition Sneakers From ‘Alien’ On April 26

“Back to the Future” fans have Back to the Future Day, and “Star Wars” fans have Star Wars Day. Now, “Alien” fans will have their special day to celebrate the 1979 film — as well as its sequels in 1986, 1992 and 1997.

Twentieth Century Fox announced on Tuesday that Alien Day will take place on April 26 and will include trivia games via Twitter and other online games, plus special releases of toys, apparel and,  yes — the Reebok Alien Stomper Sneakers worn by Sigourney Weaver.

The mid-calf sneakers — featuring a red tongue, plus straps over the midfoot and on the ankle — will be available on April 26 on Reebok.com and select Reebok locations. Weaver wore them to play her character, Ellen Ripley in the 1986 sequel “Aliens.” Reebok will also release the high-tops worn by Lance Henrikson as Android Bishop.

A release from Twentieth Century Fox says that the Alien Stompers are “one of the most-requested licensed products” from the film.

Although the shoes are in demand, they likely won’t get the same response as Nike’s beloved Air Mag kicks from “Back to the Future,” which the brand has said will be released through an auction sometime this spring with proceeds benefitting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

On Back to the Future Day in October 2015, Nike shared photos of Fox, who played Marty McFly in the three “Future” films, wearing his own pair of the Air Mags.
