The 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards provided plenty of noteworthy moments. After all, some of fashion and footwear’s biggest names were in attendance Tuesday night in New York, including Iris Apfel, Olivia Palermo, Nicky Hilton, Zendaya, Michael Kors and others. The woman of the evening was Rihanna, who was on hand to accept the Shoe of the Year award for the Fenty Puma Creeper.
The singer and designer sat front row with her friends during the awards, and she even got a chance to meet actress Dascha Polanco.
But before the show, our photographer captured the fantastic footwear on the red carpet, including Nicky Hilton Rothschild’s René Caovilla red pumps with a sparkly sole.
We also got a look at Chiara Ferragni’s head-to-toe Dior ensemble from the spring ’17 collection.
Actor Ansel Elgort was on hand to present Paul Andrew with the Designer of the Year Award.
Nicolò Giannico Beretta also hit the red carpet before accepting his Emerging Talent Award. At 21, he is the youngest recipient of that honor.
Christie Brinkley opened the eventful awards to introduce FN editorial director Michael Atmore.
Zendaya showed off her Launch of the Year Award with Michael Kors, who presented it.
Onstage, it was all smiles from Hall of Fame honoree Linda Fargo of Bergdorf Goodman.
Cuba Gooding Jr. gave an entertaining speech to introduce Social Impact Award winner John Varvatos.
Accepting the final honor of the night was Iris Apfel, who was presented with FN’s first Icon Award. The fashion influencer blew kisses from the audience before taking to the stage.
