Uri Minkoff is branching out. Following a relaunch of its men’s shoe and bag collection, formerly called Ben Minkoff, the brand is moving forward with a new ready-to-wear line for fall ’16, which was shown during New York Fashion Week: Men’s.
“The whole theme of the collection is about balance,” said Minkoff at the presentation. “Pairing a dressier trouser or suiting with a casual shoe. Guys should really invest in outerwear too.”
Amongst an offering of dressy peacoats, tailored suits and jogger pants with bright blue stripes, footwear included slip-on sneakers and shearling-lined mules (the shoes range from $175 to $195). “We used shearling in a more subtle way,” Minkoff said.
Though the new clothing collection is still being shown to retailers, Uri Minkoff is currently carried in Bloomingdales and Spring, as well as its own flagship locations. The ready to wear will likely be carried in similar stores and ranges from $195 for tailored trousers to $775 for a lined parka.
Last January, Uri and Rebecca Minkoff launched the men’s shoes for fall ’15. Produced in Brazil and Asia, the styles took cues from minimalist silhouettes and Japanese color-pops.
