It’s already been a big start to 2016 for Rebecca Minkoff — and now the brand is heading to the Middle East.
As it continues major retail expansion, the brand is opening in Dubai on April 8 and in Abu Dhabi on April 22.
“We’re thrilled to be opening our first brick-and-mortar locations in the Middle East,” said Uri Minkoff, CEO and co-founder of Rebecca Minkoff, in a statement. “Having a presence in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi — such exceptionally diverse cities — has been a longtime goal of ours. We strive to connect with our customers on a global scale and design our stores with a millennial customer in mind. Breaking into this market will give us an opportunity to directly connect and cater to our next generation Middle Eastern customers.”
For her part, Rebecca Minkoff said she was grateful to have the opportunity to set up shop in cities she had long admired.
In the past several years, the brand has made waves with its high-tech retail openings in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Next up: Chicago, which is slated to debut later this spring. Hong Kong also is on the Minkoff duo’s retail agenda.
The brand has also been a leader in the buy-now, wear-now push. Its fashion show in February featured spring ’16 looks rather than fall ’16 product in a bid to generate buzz for the current season.
