Kanye West will open spring ’17 New York Fashion Week with a bang.
The rapper and designer is set to show his Yeezy Season 4 collection on Sept. 7 — the first day of NYFW, his team confirmed to Footwear News. West will share the spotlight with labels including Tom Ford and VFiles. The venue and time will be announced at a later date.
West infamously held his Yeezy Season 3 afternoon show in February at Madison Square Garden, where he also debuted his latest album, “The Life of Pablo,” to a full arena. West brought in nearly 1,000 models who stood on both elevated podiums and on the arena floor wearing West’s designs. There was a special appearance by supermodel Naomi Campbell as well as high-profile guests including the entire Kardashian-Jenner family, Jay Z, Karlie Kloss and Anna Wintour.
While the Yeezy Season 3 collection has not been released, the Yeezy Season 2 collection of sandals and boots has become a favorite of celebrities such as Chrissy Teigen, Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid and Karrueche Tran. West presented his Yeezy Season 2 collection at a more conventional fashion week venue, the Skylight Modern.
West’s collections are produced separately from his sell-out Yeezy Boost sneakers with Adidas Originals.
