Days after her London Fashion Week attendees went bananas for Charlotte Olympia‘s spring ’17 runway extravaganza, the designer held a festive showroom presentation in Milan to put the spotlight on the shoes in the collection.
Not surprisingly, fruity elements were incorporated on many standout styles, which were paired with colorful flowers and displays. Charlotte Olympia Dellal’s beloved banana was seen on suede pumps, platform espadrilles and a clever clutch. Tropical elements also adorned plenty of other statement heels, pumps, sandals and flats.
But for the designer, there is only one style that stands above the rest.
“The Chica Chica Boom platform sandals personify the collection,” she said. “It’s a more-is-more design with a wooden sculptural heel and a multicolored upper, complete with gold laces and a floral fruit cluster accessory. If only Carmen Miranda were here to wear them.”

Other highlights of the collection include new versions of the best-selling Kitty style. For spring, the designer is offering up the look in the form of slippers and pool slides.
