When it comes to New York Fashion Week, a lot of the fun happens backstage at the shows, where editors and fashion fans can get a closer look at the clothes and, naturally, footwear on the runway.
When shoes come whizzing by on the runway, it can be hard to get a clear look at the styles. So what could be more exciting than going behind-the-scenes to see the details and textures up close?
Such was the case at the Rodarte show yesterday, where those ruffles details certainly popped on the runway, but got a whole new playful meaning up close and personal. Even cooler was the combination of colors and snakeskin fabrications that really added extra oomph to the collection.

Other standout backstage moments included Philip Lim’s rich-feeling boots in crushed velvet and bold colors for a cool finish.
Monique Lhullier’s shoes also grabbed attention with detailed heels that were adorned with too-sweet rosebuds on a garden trellis-esque heel.
