When guests arrived at Aquazzura‘s new Madison Avenue digs on Thursday evening, they were welcomed by some special guests outside the store: four male models who were wearing the brand’s lace-up pumps.
It was a fitting statement for Edgardo Osorio‘s New York debut, and Aquazzura drew a big crowd to the event at its opulent new boutique. Later, at dinner, many more notable guests arrived, including Princess Beatrice, Peter Dundas, Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Leandra Medine, Princess Olympia of Greece, Josh Schulman, Linda Fargo and others. In total, more than 100 guests dined in the Carlyle dining room, and some continued celebration upstairs in a private suite.
The designer knew he wanted to make a grand entrance into the Upper East Side with his boutique.
“I wanted it to be a church of shoes,” Osorio told FN for the story, noting that his inspiration was Florence’s Santa Maria Novella Church. The result? A stunning 2,221-sq.-ft.-space that features striking columns, dazzling gold light fixtures and, of course, plenty of standout shoes. It was designed by interior designer Ryan Korban.
