First daughters Malia and Sasha Obama are proving they have very versatile style. Earlier this month, the teens wore beautiful ball gowns for a Canada state dinner at the White House.
On Sunday, the Obamas touched down in Cuba for a historic visit. Even in the rain, the family set about touring Old Havana on foot, and the sisters wore practical footwear.
Malia, 17, wore a printed floral dress and all-white lace-up sneakers. Sister Sasha, 14, went with a $385 Shoshanna fit-and-flare dress with standout stitching and black and white slip-on sneakers.
Meanwhile, Michelle Obama wore a $2,190 Carolina Herrera dotted rose-print dress with red flats. Mrs. Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, joined them on the trip and also wore flats.
President Obama met with Cuban President Raúl Castro on Monday as Cuba and the U.S. look to normalize relations. Obama is the first U.S. president to visit Cuba since Calvin Coolidge in 1928.
Last week, Mrs. Obama was on hand for the South by Southwest music conference-festival in Austin, Texas, wearing Stuart Weitzman Nearlynude sandals. The first lady led a panel discussion last Wednesday about the government initiative Let Girls Learn. She introduced a song called “This Is for My Girls,” available on iTunes, that benefits the initiative and features Missy Elliott, Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, Janelle Monae and the duo Chloe & Halle.
