Chelsea Handler is getting ready for her Netflix moment. Her documentary series, “Chelsea Does,” premieres on Jan. 23, and to promote the occasion, she visited “The Today Show” in Jerome C. Rousseau‘s Morier Thorn pumps in black.
While being interviewed by Matt Lauer, one of the topics she discussed was racism. “I met with a lot of educated, intellectual racists, which I found amazing,” she said.
In the promo, she also talks to children about her figure and asks if she’s too old to get married. Later, she tells Lauer that she experimented with hallucinogenic drugs in Peru on camera, which is “not attractive,” she said. “Why not put myself on camera looking bad or not flattering, because nobody else in this business wants to do that?”
Handler goes on to discuss interviewing an ex-boyfriend and the overall real nature of the project. “It’s not going to be anything like “Chelsea Lately.” I’m using this as a bridge to show people where I’m going tonally. I don’t want people to think I’m trying to become Barbara Walters.”
