Now you can walk in Man Repeller Leandra Medine‘s shoes. Medine has partnered exclusively with Net-a-Porter on a 10-piece footwear collection called MR by Man Repeller. From velvet platforms to gold boots and metallic loafers, the author and web personality has brought her cool, standout style to the shoes.
Sarah Rutson, VP of global buying for Net-a-Porter, said in a statement, “Leandra has a fantastic, unique sense of style. She enjoys her fashion and expresses it so uniquely. Enjoying fashion and having fun with it shows through so well in her shoe collection, from high-octane platforms to wildly mixed colored metallic loafers, there is certainly a true sense of identity of herself in this collection that we know will fly out.”
Priced from $250 to $630, the collection hits Net-a-Porter.com on Thursday. FN caught up with Medine, who shared her favorite looks and how to style them.
How did you approach the collection? “By committing to making shoes that I genuinely wanted to wear myself.”

What were a few of your inspirations for the shoes? “I wasn’t inspired by anything in particular — other than the gaps in my own wardrobe. I really wanted to figure out what silhouettes I wear most frequently, and how they are best complimented with footwear.”
Do you have a favorite pair that you’ll be wearing most often? “The metallic or velvet loafer — I come back to loafers every fall. They style really nicely with socks and mini skirts but look great (like male ’80s teenager great) with straight-leg jeans, too. They’re comfortable and, rendered in the fabrics we chose, they speak to Man Repeller style really accurately. Meaning: You take a silhouette that is easy, that everyone can understand and get behind and then do something weird to it to make it uniquely yours.”
Can you pick a shoe from the collection and explain what you would style it with? “I think I did this in the previous answer unprompted! I do also plan to wear the lace-up mules (the satin straps are detachable through the star-shaped slits!) with high-waist jeans and crew-neck cashmere sweaters. It’s very elegant.”
Which shoe best represents your eclectic style and why? “Probably the metallic loafer, because my style really isn’t that eclectic, much the same way a loafer isn’t. I wear normal clothes. There is just always an element of playfulness — a sort of twist (hence the two-tone metallics), because I love fashion and believe that for it to work, it has to be fun.”
