Luxe footwear brand Jimmy Choo took to the skatepark for its latest men’s presentation. The spring ’16 collection was shown via a custom skate set at the Seymour Leisure Centre in Marylebone, London, with pro skaterboards and BMX bikers — including World Champion Mark Webb — sporting the label’s footwear styles.
The brand’s latest collection was inspired by 1980s teenagers and the retro skate scene, with influences like pops of neon, stonewashed denim treatments and graphic prints appearing on sneakers, which made up most of the offering.
“It takes its cue from the ’80s youth culture revolution, revisiting the excitement of the time as a grownup,” said Creative Director Sandra Choi. “The collection played out to the era’s pops of color and iconic graphic prints.”

Instead of presenting the shoes on your run-of-the-mill model, Jimmy Choo enlisted pro athletes to wear the styles while performing stunt tricks.
“These sports are all about seeing the urban environment in a new way,” said Choi. “We’re very excited to see the collection put to the test by these radical athletes.”
New style introductions included brogue sneakers with vulcanized soles as well as paint-splatter derby styles and a Vibram-soled penny loafer.
