Street Style Shoes: New York Fashion Week

February hasn’t been kind to New York Fashion Week goers.

From subzero temperatures to snow, there have been more than enough weather events to put a damper on the daintier shoe styles in favor of function.

Even fashion royalty from Anna Wintour to Nina Garcia have been spotted in snow boots with hats, gloves, scarves and lots of chunky layers. Boots and booties have been a favorite of nearly everyone traversing the Chelsea and Lincoln Center sidewalks. The occasional creeper boot and platform with bright socks or tights have also been spotted. In the sneaker department, Stan Smiths have been everywhere.

While many of us may be dreaming of heeled sandals, some of the braver fashion enthusiasts are donning socks with heels or willing away the cold in strappy options. For the bravest fashion week fans, simple heels a la Stuart Weitzman’s Nudist have been prevalent as have metallic sandals. Colorful socks paired with heels have also been a smart bet for functionality and personality.

We rounded up our favorite fashion week street style finds, from the practical to the pretty. Don’t miss our list of our runway coverage as well, where you’ll be able to see what the designers themselves are sending down the runway (and in some cases they’re already on the street.)
