This season, Stephen Curry broke his own single-season record for three-pointers made in a season and led his Golden State Warriors to the NBA Playoffs. His reward: being named the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player for the 2014-15 season.
Curry – who had his first signature shoe release with Under Armour this season with the Curry One – averaged 23.8 points and 7.7 assists per game, adding 2.04 steals per game on the defensive end.
The Curry One has already been released in six colorways, with one more set for next month. Under Armour will release the Curry One Father to Son on June 20, with colors that are a nod to Dell Curry, a former professional basketball player who spent a majority of his career with the Charlotte Hornets. The upper is purple, with a teal-and-white outsole.
In game one of the second round of the playoffs, Curry led his team in scoring, with 22 points, as the Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 101-86 on Sunday. Curry and the Warriors will play on their home court Tuesday for game two.
Runners-up for the MVP award were James Harden of the Houston Rockets, LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.
