High-fashion label Sacai is collaborating with Nike on a fall and holiday collection of apparel and shoes. The clothes include knits with pleated, flowing back panels and skirts.
“Sacai’s vision is to take classic styles that are familiar to everyone, such as the cardigan, shirt or jacket, and play with the fabrics and silhouettes,” said Sacai designer Chitose Abe. “We create a new interpretation of classic styles.”
For footwear, there are three colorways of the Air Max 90 in navy, white-and-gray and neon green-and-navy. These were released for summer ’15. The shoes take on a futuristic look sans laces, and the swoosh is more subtle — in the same color as the upper. Earlier this year, there was also a Nike Dunk style available.

Japanese designer Abe and Nike first announced their collaboration in March. At the time, Nike CEO Mark Parker said Abe’s aesthetic matched Nike’s.
“At Nike, we study the body in motion,” he said. “Abe’s aesthetic and design sensibility naturally aligned with this focus, and together we explored how to best express this notion during the development and material-selection process.”
The fall collection is available starting today at Nike.com and at select NikeLab stores. The Holiday Collection launches on Dec. 10.
