Herzogenaurach, Germany-based athletic brand Puma announced today that it has signed a long-term contract with soccer star and U.S. Men’s National Team captain Michael Bradley. The relationship will be seen on the pitch for the first time with Bradley wearing the brand’s cleats on Oct. 10 when the USMNT takes on Mexico.
“Over the past decade Bradley has proven to be a key player and leader on the U.S. National Team. This, along with his speed, touch and overall power on field has really impressed us from the beginning and makes him a great brand fit and Forever Faster ambassador,” said Tara McRae, SVP of brand and marketing at Puma North America, in a statement.
According to the brand, Bradley will be wearing its latest cleats while playing for Toronto FC and the USMNT. In addition to wearing the brand’s cleats, Bradley will be the face of U.S. Soccer for Puma, being featured in campaigns and marketing initiatives for both cleated footwear and soccer inspired products. Bradley will also help Puma create programming that will surround him during major international soccer tournaments.
“I am always working towards being better and upping my game, and the Puma products have been a great addition to that,” Bradley said in a statement. “I’m really looking forward to representing the Puma brand moving forward.”
Puma did not disclose the terms of the contract in today’s statement.
