A new Asics performance-running shoe with a stability-and-comfort focus has just hit retail shelves, called the Gel-Kayano 22.
The Gel-Kayano 22 is available now at select specialty retailers and the brand’s website for men, women and kids. The men’s and women’s shoes will retail for $160, and the kids’ version is $110.
“The unsurpassed performance and modern design of the Gel-Kayano 22 is perfect for runners wanting to push themselves to go further. It’s a superior stability shoe that is mindful of energy consumption,” said Tom Garza, senior director of product and footwear at Asics America Corp.
For a glove-like, adaptive fit, the shoe features the brand’s FluidFit upper technology with multi-directional stretch mesh and stretch reinforcements, as well as its Heel Clutching System design. The shoe also features the brand’s FluidRide midsole for comfort, support and stability, its Gel technology in the rear and forefoot for cushioning at the foot’s first point of contact and its point of push off and its Guidance Line technology to disperse foot pressure load centrally through the foot to help guide runners throughout their run. Asics’ DuoMax Support System is also used in the shoe for increased foot and ankle support, as well as its ComforDry Lasting material and ComforDry X-40 sockliner to control moisture and provide breathability.
The shoe is available in the colorways for men and women that made the prior version of the shoe popular, but Asics’ latest release also comes in three additional colorways for men (mediterranean, black and silver; black, onyx and silver; and carbon, black and silver) and two for women (purple, silver and pink glow; and black, flash coral and white).
