Adidas Originals and rap star Pusha T revealed their latest collaboration — the King Push x EQT Running Guidance ’93 — last night at an event in New York City that offered attendees the chance to hear his upcoming album through Def Jam Records, “King Push,” in its entirety.
The shoe is scheduled for a Black Friday (Nov. 27) release and will retail for $200. It will be available at select Adidas Originals retailers and the brand’s online store.
The King Push x EQT Running Guidance ’93, inspired by the rapper’s hustling past and street culture, is a followup to the 2014 collaboration, the Chalk White EQT. The shoe is dressed in all black for the collaboration, using premium materials and intricate details, including cracked Italian leather, a fish-scale heel counter, tonal reflective three stripes and a translucent outsole with visible measuring lines.
Pusha T told Footwear News at the event that the reflective detailing is his favorite part of the shoe and raved about the ease of working with the brand.
“Working with Adidas is like working with family — it’s always a big deal,” he said. “And there’s music associated with [this release]; I feel like just getting my creative ideas out makes everything always special.”
In attendance was fellow Adidas-sponsored rapper A$AP Ferg, rapper Emilio Rojas and boutique store owners Mike Packer of Teaneck, N.J.-based Packer Shoes and Chase Ceparano of Huntington, N.Y.-based Rise.
