First Look At Charlotte Olympia Spring 2016 Shoe Collection

Charlotte Olympia is going on one exotic adventure for spring 2016. The globetrotting designer unveiled her latest collection at Milan Fashion Week today.

The presentation, titled “I Married Adventure,” paid tribute to Osa Johnson’s book of the same name, which documented the author’s travel adventures with her husband, Martin Johnson, a celebrated photographer, in the 1910s, ’20s and ’30s.

“In keeping with her memoirs, I was inspired by travel in a bygone era, discovering exotic destinations far far away,” the designer told FN.

The result? A collection full of African print motifs, unique treatments on heels and platforms, hat-shaped and camera-inspired bags, button details and plenty of animal prints, including her signature leopard, which was incorporated heavily in the showroom. A giant globe decked out with a moving train also decorated the space, along with a map of far-flung locales.
