Paris-based footwear brand Adieu is getting into the sneaker game. The unisex brand, known for its gum-soled creepers and loafers, is expanding its product offering with a more casual focus in mind.
The sneakers are produced in France and Portugal, and range from $315 for canvas low-tops to $450 for leather high-tops. With its clunky rubber sole and circular logo patch, the sneakers take cue from the classic PF Flyers sneaker — a vintage silhouette that served as an inspiration for the brand.
“We like to learn from iconic models, extract the essence and push them forward,” said Adieu co-founder Isabelle Guédon. “The sneakers have a low-tech side, and an urban strength with oversized notches.”
The sneaker styles are now available at select retailers including United Arrows in Japan, Le Bon Marché in Paris, and Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong.
A growing number of dressier brands are beginning to infiltrate the sneaker scene. Classic brands like John Lobb, Harry’s of London and Berluti have all expanded their sneaker collection.
