Lady Gaga seemed to have been channeling her Countess character at the Los Angeles premiere of “American Horror Story: Hotel” over the weekend. The star stunned on the red carpet as she was — conveniently — draped in red, wearing matching platform Brian Atwood heels.
Lady Gaga’s major small screen debut takes place Wednesday, Oct. 7, on FX when the doors of the Hotel Cortez finally open. Gaga plays the Countess — the bloodsucking owner of the hotel who kills with a chainmail glove, complete with diamond-sharp nails.
The Countess’ modern glam strays from the fashion of Gaga’s head-turning Mother Monster persona, who has been known to show up to events — famously in a meat dress — or Alexander McQueen Armadillo booties.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Hotel” costume designer, Lou Eyrich, said, “One thing Ryan talked with me and Gaga about is we wanted the audience to look at her as an actor playing the Countess and completely separate from how her fans know her as Gaga.” Black, red and cream will be the Countess’ main color hues. “It definitely skews towards the ’30s and ’40s but then punch it up to be modern,” Eyrich added.

Gaga can’t seem to contain her excitement for the role. She has continually posted to her social media accounts, and she even changed her Instagram bio to: “The Countess Owner of ‘Hotel’ Cortez in Los Angeles.”
Can’t believe I’m about to go to my 1st premiere as an actress! I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of this talented magical cast ❤️

It’s safe to say, Gaga will be looking regal in killer heels, furs and diamond-encrusted gloves as the Countess, but check out the FN shoe picks we think Gaga should wear on “American Horror Story: Hotel.”
