Footwear News held its annual Achievement Awards on Wednesday evening, honoring the footwear world’s biggest names — both rising stars and industry mainstays.
The evening, which was sponsored by FFANY, Zappos Couture and FDRA, kicked off with a red carpet that featured statement footwear from the likes of Fergie, Bel Powley, Alexa Chung and more. Kanye West, the recipient of the Shoe of the Year award for his Adidas Yeezy Boost, arrived in Yeezy 950 boots.
Chung — FN’s Style Influencer of the Year — wore a pair of Gianvito Rossi Portofino sandals in red patent leather with a Phillip Lim dress and coat. Lim presented Chung with her award.
Neiman Marcus fashion director and senior vice president Ken Downing opted for a colorful knitted sweater, suede jacket and Saint Laurent boots.

Many of the evening’s presenters stayed true to the brand they were honoring. Stylist Micaela Erlanger, who presented Christian Louboutin’s team with the Marketer of the Year Award, arrived in Louboutin’s Follies Strass pumps.
Actress Bel Howley wore Prabal Gurung sandals to present the designer with the Icon For Social Impact award, and Deion Sanders wore red Under Armour sneakers to present Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank with the Brand of the Year award.
Net-a-Porter Vice President of Global Buying Sarah Rutson presented Aquazzura designer Edgardo Osorio with Designer of the Year award wearing the label’s shoes. Ruston, who almost strictly wears heels, said Osorio was able to convince her to wear flats at Paris Fashion Week this fall.
Kanye West, who accepted the award for Shoe of the Year, capped off the evening with a colorful speech.
“I care about product. I’m dead serious for what I create as an artist in this lifetime,” he said. “It’s a spark that I want to bring joy. And just like when my daughter is singing and jumping around — she might not be finishing her sentences perfectly, but she’s bringing so much joy. And I know that she’s going to grow up and be amazing. So you can see a spark in the pieces I do so that one day they can grow up and be amazing.”
