Got an extra $2 million to spare? If so, you can own a piece of history by acquiring what is being claimed as the world’s most expensive pair of shoes.
The one-of-a-kind men’s smoking slippers, by Jason of Beverly Hills, a California-based custom-jewelry retailer, claim to have broken the Guinness World Record for “The Most Expensive Shoes in the World.”
The style is encrusted with more than 14,000 full-cut round white diamonds, individually set onto white gold and a Tom Ford sole. The total carat weight comes in at a whopping 340 carats.
The dazzling shoes took nearly a year to create and over 2,000 hours of labor.
If the shoe looks familiar, you might have seen Nick Cannon wearing them on the Season Nine finale of “America’s Got Talent.” The shoes were custom-designed and commissioned for the host. Though the sparkly style isn’t for sale, the proceeds from the commission will be donated to a yet-to-be-determined charity.
While the price tag attached to these are eye-popping, they aren’t the first pair of shoes in this price range. Stuart Weitzman created a Rita Hayworth-inspired heel back in 2006, made with rubies, sapphires and diamonds that cements its status as quote-unquote “priceless,” said the brand.
FN has been told the official paperwork has been submitted to The Guinness World Records.
